School Spotlights (April 30th, 2012)
Make It Healthy
This Thursday Night our Kindergarten students will hit the stage with the musical performance, Make It Healthy. This is a bouncy, fun filled musical that explores the many positive choices we can make to stay healthy. As in other years we have adapted the script, but this year the Kindergarten students have written it themselves. The doors open at 6:15pm with the performance starting at 7pm. Donations to the food bank are always appreciated.
Kindergarten Information Night
Thursday May 10th, Proton will be hosting an information night about the everyday, full-day Kindergarten Program. Students attending Kindergarten, along with their parents are invited to join us at 6:30. There will be hands on activities, a tour of the school and a short presentation. Parents will have a chance to ask any questions they might have. We plan to finish up before 7:30, so children can get home in good time.
Earth Week Rescheduled
Earth Week Update-it is pretty hard to plant a tree in the snow, or enjoy a picnic, so our Earth Week activities have been postponed for a week. We are hoping this week will deliver us better weather than last week.
Walking the Red Carpet
During the Spring Proton Students have been reading books that have been nominated for the Blue Spruce Award. This is a competition sponsored by the Ontario Library Association. Students will be casting their vote on Monday May 7th. We will be announcing our winner on Wednesday May 9th. Students will dress up in their party clothes and have an opportunity to be interviewed on the red carpet as we enter the gym for our award ceremony.
School Community Council
Our next School Community Council Meeting is Monday May 14th at Highpoint School at 7pm.
